Guide2WDW Dining Review

In Epcot there are tons of places to eat, some more popular than other. But each place in the World Showcase does a great job of offering appealing regional dishes. One of the better places is Chefs de France (located in France, of course).
I've had the opportunity to eat there many times and have been pleased with each experience. Like the other sit down restaurants in Walt Disney World, you will want to get a reservation as far in advance as you can. I know it's not easy to plan out your trip to the every lunch and dinner detail four months out, but take this advice. Make reservations for the places you want to go when you think you MIGHT be able to get there, then cancel them if you need to. It's easier to cancel than it is to get dining reservations. Note: Disney World now has a cancellation fee policy. Be sure to cancel your reservations at least 24 hours before to avoid being charged.

Let's talk about the food there. Chefs de France offers a more casual dining atmosphere than it's neighbor Bistro de Paris. A cool feature that Chefs de Frace offers for both lunch and dinner is a flexible three course meal. With this dining option, you can pick a soup, entree, and dessert for a price of $23.95 at lunch (and it's eligible for the Disney dining plan - a great way to use 1 credit!). I really like this option becuase it allows you to try so many different things.
During my recent visit, I decided to try the three course tasting menu. I choose the French Onion Soup, Croque Monsieur and Creme Brulee. My lunch date decided to order the Lobster Bisque and a Flat Bread - yum!
First up was the French Onion Soup which was pretty good, at least better than you will get at places like Panera Bread. It's broth is not incredibly thick and beefy, so that is nice for the hot Orlando days. Lobster bisque is always good in my book. My favorite bisques are the ones with decent size chunks of lobster, which this is not. However, the soup flavoring is quite good and for the price you pay, it's a good deal.

For those fancy eaters out there I reccommend you try the Tarte a la Flamme Alsacienne. What is that!?!? Well, it's a flat bread topped with cream fraiche, onion, and bacon. All things delicious if you ask me! The bread is very soft, and the combination of cream fraiche and onion is dynamite! Also, top anything with bacon and you are doing well!

I enjoyed the Croque Monsieur et sa Salade Verte which is epicurian speak for toasted ham and cheese sandwich with a salad. But the croque monsieur at Chefs de France is not your run of the mill ham and cheese sammy. The bread comes perfectly toasted and the whole ensemble melts in your mouth! This is a great order for kids (and adults) who are picky eaters. There is nothing to not like about this sandwich.

Anybody out there like Creme Brulee??!! Since it's one of my favorite dishes in the entire WORLD (showcase), a trip to Chef's de France isn't complete til I order it. The crisp sugar topping is so fantastic, and the vanilla custard underneath is sinful! Once of the best desserts at Disney, if you ask me!

Remember folks, make your dining reservations early and often when planning your trip to Disney World. Chefs de France is a great place to go with the whole family. Plenty of selection of appetizers, entrees, desserts and drinks, you are sure to find something you love. I give Che's de France a solid Walt Disney World reccommendation!!
