Mama Melrose Review

Mama Melrose Review

Guide2WDW Dining Review

Every time we go to Hollywood Studios, we make a reservation to Mama Melrose - and this trip was no exception!

Mama Melrose serves high quality Italian dishes at a reasonable price (well, in Disney dollars). If you have picky eaters in your group, try Mama Melrose as there is a lot of variety. This way the plain cheese pizza lover as well as the foodie of the group will be satsified. Here's a rundown of what we tried during our last visit:

Walt Disney World Mama Melrose Lunch

Our visit started with warm rolls fresh out of the oven. Yummy! Olive oil is provided for your dipping pleasure.

We decided to order three different flatbreads (fancy Disney term for pizza) and split them amongst the group. First up was the Grilled Shrimp and Aurgula Flatbread which had pesto goat cheese, artichokes, and tomatoes on it. Now you may be looking at this pizza and asking yourself "I thought this was a shrimp pizza". You have to look closely to see the shrimp on the pizza as there is no more than two shrimps on the entire thing. Overall, this pizza was good despite the lack of shrimp.

Next up, the Grilled Chicken Flatbread with sun-dried tomato pesto, pancetta, asiago cheese, and fresh chive. This pizza was very tasty but also very rich due to the asiago cheese. I'm glad there were two other people helping me eat this pizza! Also, pancetta and chicken make an awesome pizza combo.

Last but certainly not least was the Carne D'Italia Flatbread with pepperoni, Italian sausage, pancetta, and spicy marinara sauce. This was my favorite of the three not only because of all of the delicious meats but also the spicy marinara sauce. All of the flavors combined for an overall great dish! Highly recommend this flatbread for you next trip (I know I'll be ordering it again on my next visit!).

Overall, Mama Melrose is a great place for lunch! I highly recommend trying it on your next visit to the Walt Disney World Hollywood Studios! Although we stuck with the flatbreads, there is also a great selection of pastas on the menu. As always, don't forget to make your dining reservations up to 180 days in advance.
