A COMPLETE GUIDE TO WALT DISNEY WORLD

THEME PARK QUESTIONS

GUIDE TO WALT DISNEY WORLD

I am driving down and staying off of Disney property at a condo. I have several children in my party and we will need to take an afternoon break for naps/rest time to make it thru the entire day.  Since I will be parking in the lots can I pay to park in the morning and then leave and come back the same day without repaying?  Also how much is the parking per day?

We purchased 5 day park hopper passes in May of 2000 but only used 3 of the 5 days.  Are the passes still good?

I have two 4-day park passes - dated 1999.  I was told the unused portions on park passes were good indefinitely.  If so, how can I tell how many days are left?

My questions is: We have two members of our party that are insulin dependent diabetics. Can we take a few snacks into the parks with us in the event they should have sugar lows which is not uncommon when they are doing a lot of walking?

Do you know what the typical height requirement is for a kiddie ride at  Disney?  My daughter is just over 2yrs old, roughly 36 inches tall.  We  are wondering if she'll be allowed on certain rides -  Tea Cups, Dumbo, etc.

What are the parking fees at the theme parks?

Do the WDW strollers have a canopy on them to give some shade to the kids?

Is possible to get a '1 Day' Hopper pass, and if so, what is the price?

What are the best rides (ages 9, 11, 13, 17)?

Are there any age restrictions for any of the clubs at Pleasure Island?

Can you advise me as to what Disney rides and attractions a 3 year old can appreciate and what to avoid/ignore?

If I go with my own stroller can I use it in WDW and when I am in an attraction is there a place to put it safely?

Yes, you can leave the parking lot and return to the parking lot later that day without having to repay.  The $8 parking fee is a daily fee, so you can return to any of the four parks without having to repay.

We purchased 5 day park hopper passes in May of 2000 but only used 3 of the 5 days.
Are the passes still good?

Yes, you can use these passes on your next trip.

I have two 4-day park passes - dated 1999.  I was told the unused portions on park passes were good indefinitely.  If so, how can I tell how many days are left?
Yes, it is true that you can still use unused days. You can check with guest services at any of the theme parks to find out how many days are left on the pass. Also, there is a guest services at Downtown Disney where you can check your tickets.

My questions is: We have two members of our party that are insulin dependent diabetics. Can we take a few snacks into the parks with us in the event they should have sugar lows which is not uncommon when they are doing a lot of walking?
Yes, you can take snacks into the parks.  Security will check your bags but they've never said anything to me about bringing food into the parks.

Do you know what the typical height requirement is for a kiddie ride at  Disney?  My daughter is just over 2yrs old, roughly 36 inches tall.  We  are wondering if she'll be allowed on certain rides -  Tea Cups, Dumbo, etc.
The height restrictions range from 35" for the Barnstormer at the Magic Kingdom to 52" to drive at the Tomorrowland Speedway at the Magic Kingdom.  Your daughter will be fine for rides like the Tea Cups, Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, etc.
Click here for a complete listing of height restrictions.

What are the parking fees at the theme parks?
The parking fee is $8 a day.

Do the WDW strollers have a canopy on them to give some shade to the kids?
The strollers have a canopy, basket, and the ability to recline.

Is possible to get a '1 Day' Hopper pass, and if so, what is the price?
One day/one park tickets and one day park hopper tickets are both available
Visit the park ticket page for prices.  The one day tickets are much more expensive than the multi-day tickets so it might be worth buying a multi-day ticket with the no expiration feature instead of a one day ticket.

What are the best rides (ages 9, 11, 13, 17)?
The best rides for this age includes:
MK
- Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear Spin, Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain for the older kids.  Your nine year old will probably enjoy fantasyland, while your 17 year old might enjoy the thrill rides more.
Epcot - Test Track, Innoventions, Honey I Shrunk the Audience.  Your kids will probably enjoy future world more than the world showcase.
MGM - The Rock 'N' Roller Coaster is great, Tower of Terror,  Muppets 3-D.
Animal Kingdom - Try Kali River Rapids (bring a change of clothes - see the tips on my site), Dinosaur, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and Tarzan Rocks.

Are there any age restrictions for any of the clubs at Pleasure Island?
After 7:00pm, you must be 18 to get the clubs, except Mannequin's and BET where you must be 21 to get in.

Can you advise me as to what Disney rides and attractions a 3 year old can appreciate and what to avoid/ignore?
In the Magic Kingdom, Fantasyland and Mickey's Toontown Fair are both great for young children.  (With the exception of Snow White's adventure, which has been known to scare some small children.)  I would also recommend Buzz Light Year's ride in Tomorrowland .  Also, many characters have meeting spots in the park for pictures and autographs.
In MGM, avoid the Great Movie Ride.  This ride can easily scare small children.  Also, the second part of the backstage tour can be scary.  The shows like the Little Mermaid, Muppet 3-D, and Beauty and the Beast are great.
At Epcot, the World Showcase will probably be a little boring to a 3 year old (except for the boat ride at Mexico).  The ride at Norway might scare little children.  As for future world, Ellen's Energy Adventure, Test Track, Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, and Body Wars might scare them.  The land pavilion rides and the living seas are good for younger viewers.
At Animal Kingdom, Dinosaur and parts of It's Great to be a Bug can be dark and scary.  Most of the shows are not scary and should be great (like the Lion King Show).
One more thing, at this age, a character breakfast or dinner would be great.

If I go with my own stroller can I use it in WDW and when I am in an attraction is there a place to put it safely?
You can use your own stroller in WDW.  There are stroller park areas outside of attractions.  Just don't leave anything too valuable in it!
