About
Just a short monorail ride or quick walk away from Magic Kingdom, Disney's Contemporary Resort opened with Walt Disney World in 1971. Also known as The Contemporary, this resort is themed around all things "ultra-modern." In 2009, the Bay Lake Tower, a 15-story addition to the Contemporary Resort, opened as Deluxe Disney Villas.

Room Information
Standard Rooms at the Contemporary come with either two queen size beds or one king size bed. Rooms also include a day bed, table and two chairs, a ceiling fan, in-room safe, a TV, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and voice mail. Refrigerators are available upon request for no extra fee. Rooms at the Contemporary are some of the largest on property with 436 square feet of space.
Concierge rooms are located on the 12th and 14th floors. These rooms come with turndown service, refrigerator, coffeemaker, and use of the lounge (with Continental breakfast, snacks, tea, wine and cheese, and light desserts).
One or two bedroom suites are also available.
Tower rooms are closest to the shops, restaurants, and monorail, but may be noisy. The North Garden Wing rooms are closest to Magic Kingdom. South Garden Wing rooms are near the pool.

Room rates start at $280 for a standard room during value season but can reach as high as $455 during the Christmas season.

Recreation
Disney's Contemporary Resort has a health club (open from 6am - 8pm), two pools (one with a slide), a kiddie pool, jacuzzi, beach, arcade, playground, six tennis courts, volleyball, and different watercraft items for rental.
Transportation to the five on-property golf courses is complimentary.
Baby Sitting
Baby-sitting is available every night from 4:30pm to 12:00am for children ages 4 - 12 at the Mouseketeer Clubhouse. The price is $10 an hour per child which includes a meal. There is a four hour maximum. Call (407) 824-3038 for reservations.
